Legacy of an Orphan
A little precious orphan in Europe died today. Her name was Rosie. She was born August of 2012 - just a year old. This has put a heavy burden upon my heart to get to our kids. God's sweet little orphans need the love of a mother and father. The need is great. Not everyone can afford to adopt, as the cost is more than financial. But, if those who cannot adopt would help support those who are answering the call, we can change things. Not everyone can help financially, but we can all pass the word around. Here's a link to just ONE site that has several of our lost children, Reese`s Rainbow. They are in the hands of our heavenly Father, and they are orphans NO MORE! But, have we failed them? My heart aches right now for the little lost soles who never got the feel of a mothers hug, never got carried on their fathers back, and never got the comfort of one of those kisses that can heal all booboos. Let's do what we can to meet this great need - a little at a time.
I just believe that if we all partner together we can make an impact in the number of orphans there are in the world. There is a huge chunk of the Body of Christ who doesn't know WHO she is! They are the least of these, but it's written that when we have done it to the least of these, we've done it to Him. Matthew 19:14 says, "Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
If you are on your journey to adopt, don't stop. Keep pushing forward. If you are not adopting, would you please find a family who is adopting and support them. If you can give $1, then do it. If you can get 10 friends to give $10, that would be awesome. But, I'm not just referring to financial support. Adopting is a difficult journey, and simply having people who encourage an adopting family with a prayer and a note, a phone call, or spreading the word is more needed than you can possibly know. It means more than money, and it helps keep us on the path that God has put before us.
Thank you to those who have helped us. Thank you to those who have given us words of encouragement. Thank you for standing beside us as supports...no matter how small. You don't realize the impact you have made. I may not have the energy or the brain power to fully express to you my gratitude, but please know that you have had an amazing impact for the Kingdom, for the Body.
If you have read this far, it is my hope that little Orphan Rosie can leave a legacy that opens our eyes to the children who need us.
