Growing in Christ: Give Thanks

My oldest son Javier. He often, shares many stories with me. On how his job went for the day. As a security guard, he not only secures the  premises, where he works at. But he also lends a helping hand, and opens the door for many people coming into the building, at his work place.

Today, my son spoke of a few people walking through the door, in which he held open. These very few walked in without a smile,  or a word of gratitude! My response was, just shut the door in their face!! Nooooo, I am just kidding! Hahahahaha

I expect him to continue to be kind and do his job 100% and more! Often time we as Christians are like this! Christ opens many doors for us in our life! From healings, needs being met, answers to prayers ...Etc.

However, we never stop to say a simple thank you! To bow our heads in prayers, and thank the One who does it all in our life! Or even lift our hands and worship the God who gives us the breath of life! We walk through life, like those men and women with an ungrateful heart; or full of excuses of why we can't stop and say thank you, Jesus!

Today, set aside time to spend with God! God has open many doors in our life! Why not spend some time with Jesus, Just to say Thank you, Lord!

Ephesians 5:20
giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Have a bless day in Christ! Love Sis Rashida

Growing in Christ: FIll your house up

Have you ever watch the show. "Extreme home make over"? Well, if not . The show is basically about homes, that are in dire need of a make over! Run down, broken homes, that need to be remodeled!

As Christians, our life was once like this! We were all dirty, filthy sinners in God's eyes; who needed an extreme make over!

We needed a savior ! God seen that need, and met that need, by sending His son. Christ, then came to earth and gave each of us an opportunity to get an extreme spiritual make over. Jesus basically cleaned house!

Like the show "Extreme house make over". They never, ever, just came in and just clean up, without bringing in new furniture! People are never left with just an empty house at the end of the show. And neither left with a new home, with the same old dirty furniture inside! Everything in the house is brand new, and the home is left full of new furniture!

When we become a Christian, Christ cleans house! Jesus also leaves us with a ton of new furniture to put into our homes. Our furniture is found in The word of God, and we are sealed with Holy Spirit (bible). The bible has the capability of transforms our spiritual life. A spiritual life of filth, to a spiritual life of the richness of Christ! To an empty spirit, to a spirit filled up in His word !

Today, don't leave your house (spirit life) empty!! Fill your life up in the word of God! Unless, you allow satan to find your house empty, and take over!

Note these verse...
Matthew 12:43-45(NKJV)

An Unclean Spirit Returns
43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds itempty, swept, and put in order.45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

Be transformed!

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by therenewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Have a bless Thursday ! Love Sis Rashida

Growing in Christ: Scripture Wednesday

Psalm 23

A David Psalm

23 1-3 God, my shepherd!
    I don’t need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.

Even when the way goes through
    Death Valley,
I’m not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd’s crook
    makes me feel secure.

You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
    my cup brims with blessing.

Your beauty and love chase after me
    every day of my life.
I’m back home in the house of God
for the rest of my life.

Growing in Christ: I will praise Him

I'm Psalm 34

34 I bless God every chance I get;
my lungs expand with his praise.

I live and breathe God;
if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy:

Woke up this morning and every inch of my body just aches! I could sit here and find many things to complain about, but I choose not too!
Today, and tomorrow and each day after! I choose to bless the Lord at all times! Because of Christ, I still have my breath to praise Him! Even through those difficult days!! Hallelujah!!

Growing in Christ: Why God

Well... Today my foot is still swollen! (from falling down the stairs at church) My sweet husband, has placed an ice pack on it. As this entire event happen at "Church"! A great question arouse from it.  "How could this ever happen at church?"  Let's take a look at this story in the bible. And it reads...

Acts 20:9-12
9 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. 10 But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” 11 Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. 12 And they brought the young man in "ALIVE",and they were not a little comforted.

As Paul preached the gospel. A man fell down, and died! But because of God's grace and mercy! What the enemy meant to discredit the "Gospel", God used it for His glory! That the power of God, would be seen! That man came back to life!

Baby Isaac, who I held in my arms when I fell could had been seriously hurt! However, he was not! Not a scratch, bruise, or a broken bone! Of all the people who stopped and prayed for my son, was the security of the church !

All I remember was a nice young man, with a tattoo on his hand asking to pray over my son. He explain he was church secruity, and could he pray for him ! My husband and I reply was an immediately "YES"!

I could care less, if he was secruity, or even the church's janitor! He Stop, cared, and took the time to pray for us! He believe as I believe, that Jesus heals, and in the power of prayers, to the One who answers them all!( 1 John 5:14)

That day God got the glory in it all! Simple put, things happen in life! But God is still GOD!!

If anything, this accident was also a great opportunity to answer this question of "Why"things happen ... As The apostle Paul in the bible can relate !

I leave you all with this verse...
James 1:2-8
[ Profiting from Trials ] My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. ...

My Faith was tested and proven to be STEADFAST, and unshakable!!

Goooood morning King Jesus !! Good morning  family and friends!
