Growing in Christ: Not a sinner

I often time hear many people call themselves sinners. Especially those who are Christians. Now those who do not know Christ, have label themselves correctly! However, many Christians are missing the entire point of the bible.

Picture yourself sitting at your desk, or a table. You have a nice, cold glass of red juice on the table, in a cup. You also have an important piece a paper, there.

Now see yourself accidentally spilling your cup over. The contents of the cup, spills over, unto the paper, saturating it with the red juice !

You see what is in that cup represents the blood of Jesus. The blood that was spilled for our sins! That paper represents, every person who has received what Christ has done on the cross. The bible tells us that God took our sins upon himself, at the cross!

2 Corinthians 5:21
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Did you see what that verse said!! It's said..." That we might become Righteousness of God" Hallelujah!!

Jesus took our present, past and future sins! As the cup of Juice flows across the table, and across the paper, it often cover a massive section!

Just like our Savior! He covers it all! Jesus's blood shed was no accident! Christ loved us so much, that instead of leaving us as sinners, He covered us in His saving blood! Christ engrafted us into His blood line of royalty!

We are no longer looked upon as sinners! But sons and daughters in Christ....

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once werenot a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Growing in Christ: Grace towards other

Lord, help me to forgive the elderly man that gave me a dirty look, was my prayer.

As I walk through Wal-Mart the other day, a couple of my kids came out of the aisle, and crossed and elderly man's pathway. Agitated that the kids crossed in front of his cart, he stop, looked at me and gave me a very unfriendly look!

I looked at him, and kept walking. Just moments before , I was speaking to my husband about ignoring people's foolishness. Speaking to him, about not letting things people do and say get him at a constant state of anger!

Now flash forward , moments later, I must practice what I just preached!

I was very angry! So angry, that I wanted to literally punch this man in his face! As I went about finishing my shopping, I said a prayer.

Lord, help me to forgive this man. Lord, help me not to blow up, if I see him again.

Not a minute later, I saw him again. I looked at him, but he did not make any eye contact with me. I kept walking, and kept my mouth Shut!

Proverbs 16:32
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

God thank you for your wisdom! Thank you for your humbling grace!

Growing in Christ: God's protection

Jeremiah 20:11(NKJV)

11 But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One.
Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail.
They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper.
Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.

Today, like any other day. I start my day out in Christ! I have sent forth my guardian angels, to go forth and prepare my day! Keeping me safe from all harm and danger, according to...
Psalm 91:11
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

I have purposely put on my full armor of God! I am ready for the day!

There will absolutely be no weapons, that has been formed against me, that will prosper! For The Lord has declare, when the enemy shall come at me like a roaring flood. God will be there to protect me, according to this verse...

Isaiah 59:19
So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

I will lift up my eyes, and see that God has kept His promise to me and my household. The Lord, has kept us safe .

Psalm 91:8
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.

Growing in Christ: Shut up!

Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!

Being redundant, is a must sometimes, to get a point across ! There were times when I would call my mother to complain about a situation, and just could not get her to join in on my pity party! (Laughs)

She often would reply with remarks as... Put it in God's hands! You'll be just fine, or God will not let you suffer ! And her most famous reply is ...There is nothing to hard for God! Even though she would never join in on one of my pity parties. I found great comfort in knowing, that she would tell me the entire truth, in love; and get me to shut up, stop speaking doubt, unbelief, and negatively!

Today, as I write. I am reminded of a wonderful story found in the bible . A story of a man name Zacharias, and his wife Elizabeth. Short verse... They had no children. She and he, were both old in age. An angel sent by God visited Zacharias, and told him, that they would have a child. Let's read Zacharias reply...

Luke 1:18
18 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

19 And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. 20 But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

Often times we just need to Shut up! And allow Christ to move in our life! If we don't have anything to say in faith, we just need to shut up!

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
